Who Loves Art?
This painting was gifted to our co-founder and Director Ruth Wartenberg by Michelle, one of the little girls we’ve helped.
We know we do!
Hello all,
Recently we mentioned that we were working on putting together some recreational activities for kids this summer. We are pleased to announce that we will be sponsoring three art events at the Armand E. Batastini, Jr. Recreation Center as part of the Summer Day Camp run by the City of Providence Parks and Recreation Department. The events will consist of three one-hour projects overseen by artist and wellness coach Joanna Read. Art is a great way for kids to learn how to express themselves and process the world around them, and we couldn’t be more excited to provide that experience! Art supplies will be provided by the LGPCF and Joanna, and each session should make for a fun and informative good time!
The events will take place from 2-3pm every other Friday: July 23rd, August 6th, and August 20th. Unfortunately it is too late to register for the Summer Day Camp but for those already signed up, we encourage you to participate!
We also want to remind everyone that we will be gathering supplies/taking donations for the Back To School event on August 31st in cooperation with Pleasant View Elementary School. Any donation, big or small, is a huge help! We are also specifically looking for any barber shops, hair salons or independent stylists that would like to help us provide some back-to-school haircuts for the kids as well! Anyone looking to participate can reach us at the information provided below.
More announcements are coming soon. Hope everyone is having a safe and fun summer!
